Here are some reasons why now is the perfect time to achieve your best smile.
Your Smile Speaks Volumes
“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.” – American comedian Phyllis Diller
Your smile is usually the first thing someone notices about you. The smile is one of the most important features of the human face because it expresses your feelings like nothing else can. Smiling can reduce stress hormone levels, increase your health and mood enhancing hormone levels, and even lower your blood pressure. A beautiful set of straight teeth can also boost your self-confidence and help improve your daily life. If you’ve ever felt self-conscious about your smile or experienced stress because of it, now is the time to better your health and take action!
It’s Time to See Your Kyle Orthodontist
According to the American Association of Orthodontists , “An estimated 50-75% of people could benefit from orthodontic treatment”.
Many people just accept that their teeth are the way they are and don’t take significant steps to improve their situation. But if you suffer from any of the following issues, then you could notice a world of difference with professional orthodontic treatment:
- Losing baby teeth too early or too late
- Having a hard time chewing or biting
- Teeth that meet in an abnormal way or don’t meet at all
- Sucking the thumb or fingers
- Teeth crowded together
- Jaws that shift, make sounds, protrude or are recessed
- Speech difficulty
- Often breathing out of the mouth
- Biting the cheek or biting into the roof of the mouth
- Teeth that protrude
- Facial imbalance or asymmetry (features out of proportion to the rest of the face)
- Grinding or clenching of teeth
- Inability to comfortably close lips
Your teeth can continue to shift and change as you age, so issues that don’t seem like a big deal at first can morph into a more complicated problem. By seeing your orthodontist sooner rather than later, you’re more likely to catch those issues and start on the road to a healthier you.
Kyle Braces for Your Child or Teenager
From the age of 7 and up, children and teenagers are excellent candidates for orthodontics. As children grow, they lose their baby teeth and their mouth begins to transform. Since “an estimated 3.9 million children are orthodontic patients in the U.S.”, your child won’t be alone in their smile journey. Braces are the most traditional method of straightening teeth, and though your kid may not wholeheartedly enjoy the process, they will reap the rewards of a beautiful smile for years to come.
Braces or Invisalign for Yourself
If you’re an adult and are not satisfied with your teeth, it’s never too late to start working on your smile. There’s no longer a stigma surrounding orthodontic treatment for adults. The New York Times published an article stating that “from 1994 to 2010, the number of Americans 18 and older getting braces or some other teeth-straightening treatment from an orthodontist has jumped 58 percent, to 1.1 million from 680,000 annually, according to the American Association of Orthodontists.”
While braces are always an option, there are also other methods that are just as effective at straightening teeth without being quite as obvious. If you live in Kyle, San Marcos, or Buda, Invisalign is a great option. Invisalign trays allow you to correct orthodontic issues and help you avoid the braces look, sometimes in less time than traditional braces.
